Competition Details Thanks to the success of the Music City Songwriting Competition, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau is again conducting this world-wide search for the best original song and is partnering with Josh Turner, SIRIUS|XM Satellite Radio, Jack Daniel's, GAC, Southwest Airlines, f.y.e., and Renaissance Nashville Hotel to make it all happen. All entrants will receive a copy of Josh Turner's newest CD. The winning songwriter will be flown to Nashville to be given a personal backstage tour of the Grand Ole Opry with Josh Turner, experience a writing session with a professional songwriter and receive an Epiphone Masterbuilt acoustic guitar, plus more. Entries will be narrowed down to the top 25 which will then be judged by a panel of top names in the Nashville music industry, including hit songwriter Brett James, recording artist Josh Turner, Grammy-winning songwriter Tim Nichols, ASCAP's Mike Sistad, Alex Torrez, GAC's "Headline Country" host Storme Warren and Nashville CVB President, Butch Spyridon. Judges will rate each song based on the following criteria: melody, composition, originality, lyrics and, most importantly, commercial appeal. Submit your song.
